CONTINUATION PAGE

This amendment serves as clarification to the Government’s initial response addressing question #2, published in Amendment 0002 on March 26th, 2024.

Question:

“The work being conducted under this contract may involve the possession, use, or transfer of a select agent or toxin.” can you verify that the ability to work with select agents is a requirement for performance of tasks under this contract.

Answer:

There is no requirement for working with select agents. At times some of the samples might have select agents in them, but this is rare. We would not expect these samples to be opened or aliquoted.

CLARIFICATION:

Working with select agents is not required by the contract. While it is very rare, unexpected circumstances may arise where a sample contains a select agent. Currently, no toxins or special agents have been identified in our biospecimen collections. In the event a toxin or select agent is identified in the future, the contractor will not be required to open or aliquot these samples.

However, the contractor (including subcontractors) must adhere to the provisions outlined in

ARTICLE H.22. POSSESSION USE AND TRANSFER OF SELECT BIOLOGICAL AGENTS

OR TOXINS, which includes 42 CFR part 73, 7 CFR part 331, and/or 9 CFR part 121.

This amendment provides responses to the questions received regarding this RFP. Please note that individual questions may have been combined or re-worded. The responses become a part of this RFP.
