1.0 TITLE
Procurement of One (1) Brand Name or Equal Invitrogen Attune NxT Flow Cytometer w/ 4-Lasers (blue/red/violet6/yellow)
2.0 BACKGROUND
The Center for Immuno-Oncology (CIO), Center for Cancer Research (CCR), National Cancer Institute (NCI), National Institutes of Health (NIH) fosters high-risk basic discovery research in immunology and tumor biology. Through preclinical translational research, to paradigm-shifting clinical trials, CIO aims to develop novel immunotherapeutic treatments for human carcinomas. One aspect of CIO’s studies is identifying and quantifying the impact of various treatments on the phenotype of tumor cells using flow cytometry. Flow cytometric analysis allows to ascertain changes in abundance of proteins expressed by the tumor after treatment with various compounds, enabling to identify compounds which have the potential to enhance the sensitivity of tumor cells to lysis by tumor-reactive lymphocytes. CIO also measures the effects these compounds have on components of the immune system. Flow cytometric analysis allows CIO to ascertain any changes in populations of lymphocytes in circulation, primary/secondary lymphoid tissues, and within the tumor microenvironment after treatment with various modalities.
As the analysis of experiments becomes more sophisticated, CIO seeks a flow cytometer that enables rapid processing, reduces the amount of fluids required, and supports rare event analyses. Therefore, CIO requires one (1) Brand Name or Equal Invitrogen Attune NxT flow cytometer with 4-lasers (blue/red/violet6/yellow) and acoustic focusing technology.
