Questions and Answers
RFP 75N91020R00034
Coordinating Center for Continuation of Follow-Up of DES-Exposed Cohorts
1. Amendment 2 stated that the contractor will be responsible for paying the study centers for activities associated with conducting the blood collection study. Could the government provide a uniform budget assumption for the amount to be paid to the study centers? We understand from previous planning that the costs will include labor, postage for mailing consents and kits, postage for shipping specimens to ATCC, local specimen collection costs and incentive payments.
Answer: The subcontracts’ budgets should include, for the sites that are performing the blood collection – University of Chicago and Boston University, labor, funding for blood collection (private service such as Quest Diagnostics, or fees at the site’s clinical research laboratory), participant travel to the blood collection site and parking, postage for mailing consents and kits and other general supplies. The Government will cover funding for shipping specimens to ATCC.
2. For the blood collection study, is the contractor responsible for paying for a blood collection service such as Quest?
Answer: Yes, the contractor will include the payment to Quest for blood collection services in their subcontract budget for the site(s) that will be using Quest.
