Responses to Questions

1. The Scope of work says you would like an 8 channel NVR but lists 9 cameras. Would the gov. like to up the NVR size to a 16 channel?

Yes, if the next size up for an NVR is sized for 16 channels. A 16 channel NVR would be appropriate to make the entire system compatible with the cameras in the building.

2. Is the facility all drop tile ceiling?

Yes, all of the facility has a drop ceiling.

3. Would the Government like a 4k monitor with the NVR in the storage room

Data/Electrical?

No, there is not a lot of room in the data/electrical room. I am looking to access the NVR from a remote location such as my desktop computer in my office.

4. The SOW states ""The VMS on the NVR should be able to be accessed virtually remotely through an application on a networked connected PC" I don't see in the SOW a work station with monitor and PC for viewing. Are you expecting the contractor to provide a monitor, a PC for workstation viewing? If so, Do you have any specifications to the size of monitor screen you would like? Would the monitor be Ceiling mounted or wall mounted?

No. A workstation with monitor with PC for viewing is not to be provided. The intent is for the Network Video Recorder and the Video Monitoring System be accessed remotely from a desktop through a local LAN network. There is not a lot of room.

5. Can you tell me how high are the ceilings? What materials are they made from (Drop ceiling tiles, hard ceiling etc..?) What are the approximate dimensions of the building? Is the drawing you provided scaled?

Drop ceilings are in the building. The material are made out of USG drop acoustic ceiling panels. The drawing provided is not to scale. The building is approximately 50 foot by 60 foot. The ceiling is about measured to be 8‐foot 1‐inch high.

6. The request is for an 8 channel NVR that provides network PoE, however there are 9 cameras requested.

a. Am I interpreting correctly that you are you preferring a NVR with a built in PoE switch? Not a separate server and switch.

You can install a separate server and switch. A NVR with POE capability would work.

b. The count of 9 cameras conflicts with the request for 8 channels; would you like 16 channels to allow for 9 cameras and expansion? Alternatively, the 9th camera could be connected via a separate additional PoE switch. Please clarify.

A 16 channel NVR instead of 8 channel due to the number of cameras.

7. Shall the new cameras have IR illuminators?

They can have IR illuminators if that is the function they use for recording at night.

8. Shall the new cameras have varifocal lenses?

They can have varifocal lenses.

9. For the 4K resolution. 90 day video retention, 24/7 recording and motion detection: Is there a minimum framerate requirement for a) continuous recording and b) motion recording?

No. There is not minimum framerate required.

10. The number of security panel monitors is not clear on the drawing. Can you please clarify the number of monitors and the desired use with the new system?

The number of security panel monitors is zero. The NVR is to be access over a LAN network from my computer or a remote computer. We are not looking for continued monitoring just video recording for forensic use.

11. What access control system is being used? Shall the access control system be integrated with the video as part of this scope or have the future capability?

There is no access control system being used. Access control system is not part of this work. The cameras are for forensic purposes.

12. How many cameras are existing to demo? Should the conduit be removed as well or re‐used?

No Cameras exist. This is a new installation.

13. The SOW states to have a NVR on a VMS? Is the VMS software a program that would need to be accessed only by a computer on the network (a physical software on the computer) or would you accept an internet browser to access the NVR as long as it was password protected.

I will accept internet browser with password protected access.
