RFQ# 75D301-20-Q-72212 Q&A

1. Can the government explain the requirement for an API? As much information as you can provide will be helpful in providing an accurate quote?

Meltwater’s API allows us to monitor, research and analyze social conversation, topic trends, influencers, and analytics data across forums, social networks, blogs and micro-blogs with real-time and historical access using their Explore platform.

The government has tentative plans for integrating data and reports from the platforms programmatically into content management systems and comprehensive digital metrics reporting platforms. API access will primarily be needed for data downloads and pulls and not expected to be used for and uploading of data to the platform.

2. What tool is the government planning to integrate data exported via the API (Domo, PowerBI, Tableau, etc.)?

CDC is using Meltwaters Explore platform to export data and reports in Microsoft

PowerPoint or Microsoft Excel.

3. While understanding that volume may vary, what is the expected monthly average of documents the government expects to retrieve via the API on a monthly basis?

Estimated monthly average 100 for explore. Unclear on future tentative plans.

4. Can the government confirm that all 49 users sit within the CDCs Emergency Operation Center? If not, what Centers within CDC do the users sit within?

CPR (CDCs Emergency Operation Center) -5

OADC - 10

CGH -11

NCIRD - 2

NCCDPHP - 9

NCEZID - 6

NCBDDD – 4

NCEH - 2

• OADC, CGH and NCIRD are currently supporting CDC’s Emergency Operations Center with the COVID-19 response.

5. Is there an incumbent vendor or is this requirement for a new project?

Meltwater is the incumbent vendor.

6. Is it the goal of the CDC to license the tool from the tool provider or would it be open to working with an agency for their tool licensing needs?

Either of these options is acceptable.

7. Would the CDC need a team of analysts fluent in the Meltwater tool to provide ongoing and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and technical consultations as well?

No, we are not looking for that service.

8. Meltwater does not exist in an environment which can meet all of the security requirements laid out in section 12. Will the government consider removing section 12 to allow the Meltwater solution to meet the requirements of the RFQ?

Depending on responses, some security requirements may be able to be removed.
