1.0 Description of Services/General Information
The contractor shall provide all equipment, tools, supplies, transportation, supervision, management, and other incidentals necessary to engineer, furnish, install and test (EFI&T) Land Mobile Radio Signal Extension Buildings 3330 (1st and 2nd floors), 3332 (1st and 2nd floors), 3333 (Basement,1st, 2ndn and Technical floors), 3334 (,1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors), Ramstein Air Base, Germany, as stated in this SOW. Newly installed Radio Signal Extension will support The 721 Aerial Port Squadron and 721 Aircraft Maintenance Squadron support missions for AMC, USAFE, AFRICOM, USAREUR and EUCOM.
The current location of the four buildings listed are blocked by structures on Ramstein preventing line of sight communication with the repeater towers on base. There is one repeater tower off base that the four buildings have line of sight access to. Additionally, the four buildings are the only all metal and glass buildings used by operational squadrons on base. The structures themselves absorb and block radio signal. A solution is required to allow clear, consistent radio transmissions for these two squadrons.
1.1 Specific Installation Requirements
To extend the signal strength of the current Land Mobile Radio systems used by the two squadrons on base using a distributed antenna system, donor antenna system, coaxial cables, low profile antennas and battery backup. Similar equipment solutions will be considered. This system upgrade requires seamless integration with existing base ELMR network and extends current P25 trunked radio features. The system ties into existing and new coaxial/fiber lines within the four buildings requiring this system. The system should be compatible with an MCD 5000 Radio Over IP systems or similar. Radio transmission requirements should function indoor to indoor within a building and indoor to outdoor (vice versa) from each building. Radio communication should be seamless after install between and through the four buildings hosting the system.
1.2 Scope of Work
The work includes design, delivery, installation and commissioning of the equipment listed and described in this document.
Substructure consisting of:
- Coaxial cables
- Distributed antenna system
- Donor antenna system
- Low profile antennas
- Battery backup
