INSTRUCTIONS:

Written responses must be received no later than the closing date of this notice. These submissions must be sent via email ONLY to the following addresses: Jordan_BG@usaid.gov with a courtesy copy to Mr. Alla’a J. Sawaked at asawaked@usaid.gov. In the subject line of the email write: “BUSINESS GROWTH - RFI”. Fax and hand carried submissions will not be accepted. Phone inquiries will not be accepted.

Interested parties must provide responses or answers to the questions related to the draft SOO, Attachment I. Responses must be submitted in a Microsoft Word format, 12 point Times New Roman font, not to exceed twelve (12) pages, and shall be written in english.

1. Business Growth is focused on two major objectives namely: (a) competitiveness of Jordanian SMEs improved, and (b) opportunities for SMEs harnessed/captured.

What additional objectives should be added to support SMEs growth in Jordan and to overcome the current economic stagnation?

2. What improvements and or recommendations would you suggest to better achieve the project purpose and contribute to increase the economic contribution of Jordan’s SME sector?

3. The SME sector in Jordan is crowded with donor assistance. What will enable this activity to stand out from current and past activities that will significantly increase its likelihood of achieving the stated purpose of the SOO?

4. What are the top three-five lessons learned from on-going and previously implemented projects that are directly related to the two main objectives of this activity and may not be reflected in this document?

5. What are the biggest risks in implementing this project, and what do you propose to mitigate them?

6. How can USAID encourage further innovative solutions in this design?

7. Do you foresee any challenges in implementing the intended activity? What are they?

8. How can the activity support self-reliance of the SME sector in Jordan?
