About this file

This document is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by USAID/Egypt to solicit information and recommendations from interested parties regarding a potential new activity to support energy sector reform and resilience in Egypt.

The RFI provides background that USAID/Egypt is designing a new, standalone five-year activity with an estimated total cost of $20-25 million to support Egypt's target of producing 42% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2035. The activity aims to reform the power sector to adopt more competitive market practices, create conditions for private investment, decarbonize the power sector, build energy supply resilience, and support equitable and sustainable economic growth. USAID/Egypt is seeking comments, opinions, and recommendations from respondents to help inform the design of this potential future activity. While responses to this RFI will not provide any advantage in any future solicitation, all information received will be used for planning purposes only. Responses are due by October 30, 2024 at 15:00 Cairo local time via the specified email addresses.
