About this file
This is an Overhaul Description document for a Coast Guard meteorological measuring set that specifies repair and restoration requirements for government-furnished property.
The item being serviced is the Meteorological Measuring Set (WXPAX Assembly with Hardwire Sensor), National Stock Number 6660-01-470-7062, Part Number S1568, used on WLB-225 and WLM-175 vessels. The assembly comprises three major components: an anemometer (Part Number 1220-117-025) with wind monitoring sensors, a weatherpak assembly (Part Number WP2000) containing air temperature, relative humidity, and barometric pressure sensors with associated circuit boards, and a base mount (Part Number 1220-117-016) with quick-release mechanisms. The contractor must perform arrival inspection to verify completeness, identify required repair parts with cost and labor estimates, conduct overhaul using OEM or equivalent parts that maintain form, fit, and function, perform factory testing and calibration, and ensure compliance with ANSI/NCSL Z540-3 calibration standards. Each assembly must be preserved and packaged in cardboard or wooden boxes with foam inserts per ASTM-D5118, marked with NSN 6660-01-470-7062 and appropriate shipping labels, and bar-coded using ISO/IEC-16388-2007 Code 39 symbology. The contractor must provide test/calibration results prior to shipment and maintain documentation traceable to NIST. Government acceptance occurs at destination with Coast Guard quality assurance inspection. The cost estimate for overhaul is not to exceed $4,837.50. Standard manufacturer's warranty applies, with the recommended repair source being Campbell Scientific Inc. in Logan, Utah (contact: MISTY@CAMPBELLSCI.COM, 435-227-9105).
