Questions & Answers Solicitation # 70Z0G821QPCV22000
Repair the Paint Bay#4 at U.S. Coast Guard Base Portsmouth
Question 1: Is there an incumbent contractor currently performing these services, if similar services have been performed in the past, or if this is a new requirement?
Answer 1: There is a not a contractor performing any repair services on this equipment. The Coast Guard Facility staff (FED) performs preventative maintenance on the units.
Question 2: “The SOW states to provide and install a new PROGRAMMED VFD and the 75hp motor for the HVAC unit. However, after talking to the vendor about the VFD, he recommended to replace the motor on that part. Concerned that the old motor may have caused the VFD to burn out and if you install a new VFD with the old motor the same may occur and that part will not be covered under warranty.”
Not knowing if you’ve discussed this with the end user, do you anticipate amending the Solicitation and SOW?
Answer 2: Motor has been checked and is not the issue, solicitation and SOW will remain the same.
