MAJOR M&R WATERFRONT (FY21 CPOP) AT USCG STATION EATONS NECK,

NORTHPORT, NEW YORK (SUFFOLK COUNTY), PSN 10107427

RESPONSES TO RFI QUESTIONS:

Question 1 (Q1): For Optional Bid Item 2: do you foresee there being enough existing riprap to meet the requirements of the proposed reconstruction of the revetment? If not, would you be able to give an approximate value to how much additional would be needed?

Response 1 (R1): Existing onsite revetment riprap may be utilized as Riprap and Riprap Bedding Stone for the reconstructed revetment so long as it meets the requirements of Section 31 00 00, EARTHWORK. The quantity of existing revetment riprap is estimated to be no more than 10 CY.

Accordingly, imported Riprap and Riprap Bedding Stone is anticipated to be required to meet the specified dimensions and gradation of the reconstructed riprap revetment. Photos of the existing revetment are provided on Drawing C-901 and the approximate extents of the existing revetment are provided on Drawing C-103.

Q2: For Base Bid Item 1: can 12.75x0.500 piles be used instead of 12.75x0.625? The 0.5” thick piles are likely more readily available than the 0.625”.

R2: The specified pile wall thickness is required for design and may not be reduced.
