Amendment No. 0001

BLOCK 14: DESCRIPTION OF AMENDMENT

Q1: The preservation items in the specification for solicitation 70Z08521QP4517900 are using verbiage that requires the coatings contractor to be QP-1 certified and supply a 3rd party coating tech rep.

Example: Item 24 paragraph 3.1.2.1 " Accomplish applicable requirements in SFLC Std Spec 0000, Paragraphs 3.2.4.2.1 (Painting contractor certification program requirement) and 3.2.4.2.2 (Coating Tech Rep).

Is it the intent to just follow the requirements of SFLC STD SPEC 0000 Paragraphs 3.2.4.2 and either be QP-1... OR in LIEU OF.....supply a Coating Tech Rep?

A1: For all preservation work items with critically coated surfaces, (WI:6,9,13,15,21,23, 24,25,31,33,34), a third party NACE CIP Lvl 3 with Marine Specialty that satisfies SFLC Std Spec 0000, Paragraph 3.2.4.2.2 (Coating Tech Rep) is required. This is IN LEIU OF a QP-1 requirement. Disregard any verbiage requiring a QP-1 certified company as outlined in SFLC Std Spec 0000, Paragraph 3.2.4.2.1 (Painting contractor certification program requirements). The CG does not object to utilizing a QP-1 company on this contract, however a QP-1 company alone will not satisfy the requirements of this contract. A 3rd party NACE CIP Lvl 3 with Marine Specialty is required regardless of the qualifications of the preservation company, prime or sub-contractor.

Q2: Item 28 general welding. 3.1.5 says locations listed in tables 1 and 2. However there is no table 1 or 2 in spec. drawings are for uptake spaces. During ship check PE discussed this work item being associated with WI 23. Please clarify.

A2: Please bid according to the specification which does not reference welding in WI 23 Decks Preserve. WI 28 General Welding, Provide para 3.1.5 Work locations Tables 1 and 2 are missing. Tables 1 and 2 are the same as WI 27 Structure (Stack Interiors), Repair and Renew Tables 1 and 2.

Amendment No. 0001

Q3: Items 7, 12, 14 and 16. Can sewage riser be used for disposal of fluids. These tanks are non fuel/oily waste.

A3: All relevant tanks will be at low suction. For bidding purposes, please reference the associated WI with tables which reference the gallons remaining when a tank is at low suction.

All residual fluids remaining in the tank shall be handled as an interference IAW paragraph 3.1.4 Interferences- Fluid contents. Fluid contents include any fluid at or below low suction in addition to fluids generated through the cleaning process. No installed pump(s), piping, or tank(s) may be used to facilitate removal of residual fluid contents. Contractor is reminded of work coordination with Tanks (grey water and lift stations) Clean and Inspect, and Sewage Shore Tie, Modify.
