Scope of Work: #3 SSDG Gasket Renew

Period of Performance: 09/10/18-10/05/18

Contractor to renew of HAMILTON’s #3 Ship Service Diesel Generator (SSDG) oil pan gasket. Generator is a CAT Model 3512 Engine (serial no. 0NSC00003). Oil Pan gasket on the #3 SSDG has been leaking in several locations. Epoxy was applied in effort to mitigate leak on the #3 SSDG, but has not slowed the leak. Work will ONLY be completed on the NR 3 SSDG.

Contractor will be required to remove all interferences, raise the generator, and renew gasket (P/N 479-8430, available directly from CAT Defense, POC Mike Weiland). Contractor will be required disconnect/remove all interferences, raise generator to perform repairs and reinstall all effected interferences. Contractor shall follow attached torque spec when re-bolting engine block to sump after installation of the gasket. Load bank testing will not be required.

Ship visit is highly recommended prior to bidding on any work.

Ships force will be required to drain and refill all engine fluids prior to and after completing work.

Access to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) requires submittal of access forms. The FTC-OSPR-17 and OF306 forms are required for all U.S. citizens. The 17A form is an additional form that is required for all foreign nationals (including naturalized citizens). FLETC requires 10-14 days for processing of applications for U.S. Citizens and up to 30 days for foreign nationals. In general, new contractors are provided with an initial 30-day badge. These 30 days are intended to provide time for the contractor to get fingerprinted and allows the CG time to process fingerprints (which typically takes 2 weeks). It is only after FLETC receives positive fingerprint results that they will provide a "full-badge" (which should last the duration of the contract).

If and only if, the contract will last 5 days or less, only a FTC-OSPR-17Z needs to be submitted for each contractor that will need access to the facility. Contractors that will be onsite for longer than 5 days will need to follow the process outlined above.
