14. DECRIPTION OF AMENDMENT/MODIFICATION (Organized by UCF section headings, including solicitation/contract subject matter where feasible.)

1. This modification is to post questions and answers as follows:

Question: Does the T in the pictures provided reduce from 10 in on the main line to 8 in going into valve 44? Or is the pipe size on each of the 3 ends of the T 10 inches?

Answer: It is a 10” pipe leading down from the upper level into a 10” flange at ASW-V-51B. Bal-V-44 (8” flange) is then connected into this pipe with a section of 8” pipe saddle welded in. If it were to be renewed then the contractor would need to utilize a 10” tee fitting with a 8” bushing inserted on one of the 3 sides.

Question: Are both flanges the same?

Answer: Yes. Bal-V-44 is 8”. ASW-V-51B is 10”. 3rd outlet is 10” where it feeds up to the 3rd deck

Question: Is this 90/10 or 70/30 CuNi.

Answer: It appears to be 90/10 CuNi.

Question: From the part of the drawing I have, valve 51 B is downstream…install of a blank flange there would not solve the isolation issue. I’m sure there is a spot we can blank flange up stream, but I don’t have the full drawing.

Answer: it would definitely have to be flanged, it is directly next to the damaged area on the downstream side. We do have valves upstream which can also be flanged.

Question: Does a cofferdam need to be installed to accomplish the repairs on the ASW piping?

Answer: No

Question: Will the Coast Guard be handling all residual water from the draining system?

Answer: No
