Questions and Answers #1

Q1. In reference to pest control; I am a "Qualified Applicator License" and my business is a

"Maintenance Gardener Pest Control Licensed". Does this meet the requirements? After reading the

Attachment 3, section 5.9.7; I'm unclear on if this will suffice. If not, may I include a licensed pest control company that meets the requirements in my bid?

A1. You do not need to provide any licenses or proof you have these prior to award. You should state in you submission that you have such licenses. Proof of these licenses are needed after award per PWS section 8.2.

Q2. What was the prior award amount per year for this service?

A2. The current contract was awarded for $231,000.00 and that was for a total of five years.

Q3. Can the government provide the current value of the contract? (Same question as above).

A3. See response to question 2 above.

Q4. Can the government provide the current staffing levels for the contract?

A4. No, that will be up to the offer to determine the staffing need based on the PWS requirements.

Q5. What areas is pest control required? For example, are pest control services for the helicopter pad?

A5. Refer to the PWS: If needed, herbicide/pesticide must be in compliance with EPA and State

Regulations.

Q6. There are discrepancies in the number of trees between the PWS paragraph 7.5.4 and Technical

Exhibit 1. Please provide the correct number of trees to be maintained.

A6. On Technical Exhibit 1 the quantity listed is for Point Loma property. Please refer to PWS paragraph 7.5.4 only for the correct number of trees.

Q7. Is vegetation or debris removal required along the rip rap/boat ramp area?

A7. No.

Q8. What is the expected number of cuts per month?

A8. The frequency estimate for mowing will be once per week, four times a month. Trimming and edging can be done on a different day once a week, four times a month. Final determination shall be designated in the Annual Grounds Maintenance plan. It is ultimately up to the vendor to meet the

PWS standards regardless of the estimates.

Q9. Is policing/cleaning of the parking areas and roadways required?

A9. Yes. Parking lots are also listed under section 7.8 for weed control.
