About this file
This document is a Purchase Specification for Controllable Pitch Propeller (CPP) Hub Assemblies for 270' WMEC (Medium Endurance Cutter) vessels manufactured by Escher Wyss. The specification details precise manufacturing, testing, and quality assurance requirements for two hub assembly styles: Style B (Port, Right Hand rotation) and Style A (Starboard, Left Hand rotation), each with specific stock numbers and part numbers.
Key technical requirements include manufacturing the hub assemblies from ABS Type 4 Nickel Aluminum Bronze, dynamically balancing each hub assembly with a maximum allowable out-of-balance force of 266 Ounce Inches, and conducting comprehensive testing including hydraulic actuation testing, hub cavity pressure testing, and final acceptance operational inspections. The specification mandates strict adherence to original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications, with detailed requirements for cleanliness, finishing, preservation, packaging, and marking. Contractors must submit detailed test and inspection plans, maintain calibration records, and provide comprehensive documentation within 180 calendar days of order receipt.
