Steelhead FY19 Dockside Repairs Amendment A0003 70Z080-19-Q-P4502700
This amendment is issued to answer the following questions:
1. Question 1:
Item 3 – Temporary Services - Is the contractor responsible for providing temporary services for the entire February 13-March 16 period or can the services be stopped if the work is completed early? Will the government provide a spot on property to place the office Trailer? Will there be access to existing utilities (ie..electrical service, telephone, internet) onsite to connect trailer, or will new service lines need to be brought in from off property?
Answer 1:
The Temp Services will be very limited. The CG Base in Woods Hole, MA can provide 110V Electrical but the Contractor should have his own 220/440V for welding. Services, if any, can be stopped if the work finishes early. Contractors should plan on working from their laptops and hotel rooms. There may not be room for another office trailer on the base. However, the town of Falmouth is just a few minutes away.
2. Question 2:
Item 4, 6, 9 – Table 1 in item 6 states the Passageway (2-5-0-L) is One Step Epoxy, Table 1 in Item 9 states the Passageway (2-5-0-L) is Epoxy Flake System. Item 4 Renew Access Cover call for the covers to be coated with One Step Epoxy. In addition the Item 9 calls for the Epoxy Flake System in the Mess Deck and Galley be replaced. Normally the galley and Mess deck coverings are the same as the passageway covering. Please verify the galley & Mess deck is Epoxy Flake, is the passageway Epoxy Flake or One Step Epoxy, what covering do the access panels need to be One Step Epoxy or Epoxy Flake?
Answer 2:
Your statement about the two types of deck covering is correct. However, for this dockside we are asking the Contractor to fabricate new access panels in Passageway 2-5-0-L (See Work Item 4). We want them covered with the same One-Step as the surrounding deck, so the covers and the passageway deck match. The Messdeck will have epoxy flake, so the two will look a little different.
3. Question 3:
Item 9 – Interior Deck Covering, Renew – Specification calls for the contractor to replace 6 each Deck Panels (GFM). These panels are secured by on Omega Profile that is screwed into the framing. Will these fasteners be GFM or will the contractor be required to furnish?
Answer 3:
Only the deck panels will be Government Furnished Material. The Contractor will have to provide the fasteners, which we believe are readily available.
