About this file
This is a Statement of Work for the recertification of one 87-foot Coastal Patrol Boat (WPB) docking cradle. The contractor must conduct all necessary inspections and certifications of the cradle in accordance with Coast Guard Drawing No. 87WPB 085-12, Rev A, and Surface Forces Logistics Center Standard Specification 8634 (2022). The work must be performed at USCG Yard in Baltimore, Maryland, within a 10-day period or more as soon as possible. The cradle has been previously load tested, so re-load testing is not required; however, the contractor must conduct weld inspections as determined by the certifying authority.
The contractor must deliver a comprehensive Certification Report that includes Appendix B-2 (signed and sealed by a Professional Engineer licensed in Maryland), completed Appendices B-23 and B-24, an inspection overview, detailed inspection findings with supporting documentation, and a surveyor's endorsement marked as either "SATISFACTORY" or "UNSATISFACTORY" with any contingencies clearly noted. This work supports the Coast Guard's acquisition of recertification services for lift rig equipment and will be awarded as a Firm Fixed Price Purchase Order on a best value basis, with payment made by Government Purchase Order (Net 30) after Contracting Officer approval.
