70Z04024Q52221B00 A0003, issued 09/17/2024 Questions and Answers cont’d Question 3: The manufacturer… is saying that the outdrive has to be [split] into two parts for it to work properly and is billing for each separately. Is that acceptable to you?

Answer 3: Although each required Outdrive has two components (i.e., an Upper Gear Case and a Gear Housing), in order for the Outdrive to be stored properly at our warehouse both components must be properly assembled and packaged in one container in Ready for Issue (RFI) status and clearly marked as an Outdrive in accordance with the Solicitation, citing NSN (3040 01-659-0715) and Part Number (21766684). For billing purposes, it is also preferred that billing matches the order itself, which will have a Line Item for the Transom Shields and a Line Item for the Outdrives.”

70Z04024Q52221B00 A0002, issued 09/13/2024 Questions and Answers Question 2: Do you accept a Drop Ship option? [Vendor] can order and have the manufacturer ship straight to [the Baltimore warehouse] to avoid any unnecessary shipping costs. [Is this acceptable]?

Answer 2: Due to the specific Coast Guard requirements for preservation, packaging and marking, wherein each item must be individually preserved, packaged and labeled per the Solicitation, a drop shipment directly from the manufacturer will not be accepted.
