Amendment Number A00001
14A. This Amendment is issued to answer the following questions submitted in response to this solicitation:
Question 1. Recent spec packages included a work item for ShurJoint Renewal. Is it excluded on purpose? If so, should they be provided as GFE or CFE in the Strainer Overhaul work item?
Answer1. Shurjoint Renewal is a case by case basis. 45747 has already had this Work Item completed, this is the reason it was left out of the Specification.
Question 2. There are 27 hoses listed in 45-RB-M-505-001 that are not included in the hoses within the spec. Is that intentional?
Answer 2. Only the hoses in Table 1 of the Work Item Standard Hose, Renew should be Bid on. If any of the hoses are not identified in Table 1 Then they were intentionally left out. In the Future this Work Item will reflect more hoses in Table
1. But For this Contract stick to all the hoses that are listed in the Table.
Question 3. Paragraph 3.2 states, “…renew all hose assemblies listed in Table 1… reusing those fittings that are in acceptable condition and that are the proper fittings in accordance with the drawings and standards.” Can you define acceptable condition and quantify what percentage of fittings will require complete renewal?
Answer 3.For this Work Item, All hoses and Fittings will be NEW. We will not be re-using any fittings on the 45747.
Question 4. SFLC Standard Spec 5000 requires labels that include the service life for each hose assembly. Can you provide a list of which hose assemblies meet the 8-year criteria vs 5-year criteria?
Answer 4. 45747 Hoses (Table 1) will be standard, This is a 8 year cycle for replacement. Hose Tags should be labeled accordingly. Port Engineer will be on scene at the Dry Dock to answer any additional questions about labeling hoses.
