Question: Could you please provide the exact measurements needed for the signs?
Answer: letter height should be 3” making the sign readable from 90’ away. Our rough calculation with the letter width approximately ½ the height, the sign would be about 36”Wx24”H. A single post should be suffice to hold that up.
6/2/2022 Question:
I have a few comments based of this new revision.
1- 24" high x 36" wide sign is very large and with a 7' high clearance below the sign means the top of the sign is 9' high which is tall for a lone sign on the coast. Generally signs in rural areas only need 5' clearance. Please confirm you want 7' clearance.
2 - Do you know a 3" letter with all you want to put on it will fit in 36" sign? Line 1 (FEDERAL ROAD) no problem but Line 2 and 3 have a lot of characters and i dont think it will fit if we have to make everything 3" letters.
3 - Please confirm 1 post is sufficient or will 2 post be needed. With the size above 2 post will most likely be needed.
3A - The location with a ditch won’t allow for 2 post. With the size of the sign requested please confirm how we are to proceed.
Answer:
1. 5’ Clearance is acceptable
1. Recommend 3” height lettering. If not able to fit lines 2 and 3, reduce letter size (max possible) to accommodate 36” width sign.
1. Install two posts; one with a minimum 5’ clearance and adjust second post height to accommodate ground condition.
