About this file

This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the replacement of a vehicle security gate system at USCG Station Portage in Dollar Bay, Michigan. The contractor must furnish all labor, materials, and equipment to replace an obsolete automatic front gate that frequently malfunctions, with work to be completed within 60 calendar days from contract award. The scope requires installation of a new 24-foot-wide, 7-foot-tall aluminum cantilever Zip Track Gate with 1 foot of barbed wire on top, an industrial-grade slide gate operator, a new heater with thermostat for the gate controller, two photo eye beam detectors for safety (one on entry side and one on exit side), and a linear loop detector on the entry to enable automatic opening for exiting vehicles. The new gate controller must be compatible with and integrated into existing call box and remote control devices including JOBCON hardwired and RF handheld wireless remotes.

All materials must be new and produced by nationally recognized manufacturers. The contractor is responsible for scheduling utility mapping in accordance with municipal codes, removing and disposing of the existing gate per environmental laws, and ensuring compliance with local building codes and HVAC standards. Deliverables include manufacturer and contractor warranty documentation, system manuals with maintenance recommendations, and a final inspection and commissioning report. Contractor personnel must have appropriate electrical certifications and comply with all government regulations, policies, and procedures. Work will generally occur between 0700 and 1600 EST, Monday through Friday, though other hours including weekends may be required. The government will furnish 110vac electrical power and potable water; the contractor furnishes all other facilities and equipment. The COR will accept or reject deliverables with 30 business days allowed for contractor corrections if needed.
