About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for a solicitation seeking 40 forensic laptops for the U.S. Coast Guard's Digital Forensic Laboratories and offices. The document clarifies that the USCG is seeking MSI or equivalent laptops that must be TAA compliant, with the MSI-STEALTH16A1027 model specifically identified as acceptable. Ruggedized laptops are not required.
Key technical specifications were discussed through multiple vendor questions, with several Dell Alienware models being rejected as unsuitable alternatives. The procurement is structured as a one-time firm-fixed-price purchase, and it is a new requirement with no incumbent contractor. The document also clarifies that no existing government-wide acquisition contracts (GWACs) or GSA vehicles were found suitable for this procurement through market research.
