Paragraph # Question Answer
We noted the subject solicitation was issued this afternoon via FEDBIZOPPS, but it appears that Attachment 1 (Requirements Document), Attachment 2
(Past Performance Questionnaire) and Attachment 3 (Solicitation Provisions) were not included in the Request for Proposal. Could you please change the solicitation to include those attachments or provide them to us under separate cover?
The attachments are there, they are attached in the solicitation’s adobe document. If you are adobe, press the paperclip.
Requirements Section (C)
Protection Standards
It is our understanding that only (1) of the (3) standards needs to be met as long as Impact Force, Kinetic Energy, Penetration resistance (non‐ballistic), and Energy attenuation are met per that particular standard. Please confirm that this is true.
Correct; only one (1) of the three (3) standards needs to be met as long as
Impact Force, Kinetic Energy, Penetration resistance (non‐ballistic), and
Energy attenuation are met per that particular standard.
Section E. Comfort Fit
Pads, Item 1 Is the USCG specifying a maximum contract ceiling? The USCG is not specifying a maximum contract ceiling.
Retro‐reflective Material, Section A
Is it intended for the helmet to incorporate at minimum 16.5 square inches of one (1) inch thick SOLAS‐grade retro‐reflective material or exactly 16.5 square inches?
Per the reqirements, the helmet must incorporate at least 16.5 square inches of one (1) inch think SOLAS‐grade retro‐reflective material.
Can you please advise what brand and model helmet you require? I did not see the specs in the solicitation.
This solicitation is not requesting a specific part number for the helmets.
Please review the Requirements Document for details on the helmets requested.
Please confirm that the USCG wants to purchase Boat Crew helmets without the shroud? CLIN 00003 seems to indicate USCG’s desire to purchase the shroud (described as “monocular night vision device mount”) separately.
The USCG will purchase the monocular night vision device mount ('shroud') separately; however, every helmet provided for testing must include the mount ('shroud') and rails.
7 Does the USCG want the Wilcox shroud and insert attached for the samples?
Yes; the USCG expects the monocular vision device mount and rails attached to all helmet samples. Therefore, if offeror's intention is to propose the Wilcox shroud and insert, then the Wilcox shroud and insert must be attached to all helmet samples.
We would love to quote you the request for below solicitation # do you have any part numbers of the items you are requesting?
This solicitation is not requesting a specific part number for the helmets.
Please review the Requirements Document for details on the helmets requested
