Question Answer

1 1.3 Scope: “Velocity at the muzzle and 1000 yds, plus a minimum of one other points which will be determined at time of testing.”

Question: How will the other points be determined at the time of testing?

Will an additional point be selected within the available data achievable during the test conditions?

Data point one will be captured at the muzzle. Data point two will be captured at 1000 yards.

Data point three will be determined at the time of testing, based on the confines of the facility selected to conduct the testing. This data point will be captured while the projectile is traveling supersonic for the atmospheric testing conditions.

2 1.3 Scope: “Atmospheric Statistics” Question: What statistical values should be supplied in the test results for atmospheric values?

Density altitude (feet), temperature (degrees fahrenheit), humidity (percentage), station pressure (inches of mercury), altitude (feet in reference to sea level) and direction of fire (degrees).

3 1.3 Scope: “Including the High and Low for each above” Question: Should this be viewed as providing the maximum and minimum recorded values? If so, how should “Standard Deviation” and “Extreme Spread” “High and Low” values be generated?

Over a ten shot string the high and low ballistic coefficient values should be listed separately. Additionally, the extreme spread and standard deviation should also be notated utilizing standard calculations.

4 1.3 Scope: “Raw test data needs to be combined with atmospheric data and projectile details to create a comprehensive ballistic performance result. Custom Drag Model (CDM) Question: Is the reference to Custom Drag Model (CDM) for use in a ballistics solver?

The Secret Service is currently utilizing the Kestrel 5700 Elite with Applied Ballistics (AB).

The custom drag model (CDM) provided at the conclusion of testing must be compatible with the AB ballistic solver software and have the ability to be installed on multiple devices via an update or patch for the Kestrel 5700 Elite device.
