Questions & Answers Sources Sought Notice - 70FA6018I00000002

Catastrophic Data Models II

1. What weather/event types does FIMA desire to be tracked?

FEMA desires to track all flood events.

2. Timing – how far in advance of an event would FIMA desire to be notified?

FEMA does not desire a notification. FEMA would like to license the flood models and be able to run the NFIP profile through the pathway of an expectant storm, in order to estimate potential losses.

3. How would FIMA prefer delivery? Via Platform only? Mobile?

FEMA would prefer delivery through a platform in order to conduct the modeling independently.

4. Using the National Weather Services’ “Watches, Warnings, Advisories” as a guide, which one, or are all three desired?

FEMA does not desire any of those services.

5. Are analytics for live event tracking desired? For example, and “If, Then” deliverable: If wind speeds are displaying/tracking at “X”, then the expected impact area is “Y”, with an expected damage estimate of “Z”. This example is for wind speeds. Are there other specific events that are desirable for an “If, Then” live event analytic deliverable?

FEMA would prefer to conduct the analytics independently.
