About this file
This document contains questions and answers regarding a solicitation for all-terrain vehicles for the U.S. Border Patrol. All-Terrain Vehicles
Q.1. Some of the requested ATVs for the Border Patrol solicitaon only have 6-month manufacturer warranes. Would the government prefer extended manufacturer warranes or just the standard warranty?
A.1. Standard warranty.
Q.2. SOW 5.1.1 Yamaha Raptor: If vendor were to price an equal machine, can it be an automac transmission?
A.2. Yes, it can be an automac as all other brands are automacs.
Q.3. Yamaha is sll having supply chain constraints so we are researching equal units. Will the government accept an independent double a-arm or McPherson Strut in lieu of Independent Double Wishbone for the suspension?
A.3. Yes, the Government will accept.
Q.4. We were informed by Can-Am Rep the Outlander DPS 450 is discontinued and has been replaced by the Outlander DPS 500. Is this a suitable replacement, or would you like a different model in its place?
A.4. Yes, this is a suitable replacement. We had heard that as well but were offering vendors the ability to sell their DPS 450 supplies and then move to the DPS 500 to fulfill the order.
Q.5. In section 5.1.2, ATV Paint and Colors, it's stated that the preferred colors are green, tan, or camouflage with black powder coated accessories. Is there a quantity per color, or it doesn't matter as long as they are one of the three colors mentioned above?
A.5. No specific quantities for each color. We realize that it would be difficult to procure this many ATVs all in the same color, so we offered color options.
