About this file
This is a Proposed Sole Source Purchase Form submitted by the University of New Mexico (UNM) Purchasing Department for the procurement of medical devices through Applied Medical Technology Inc. The request, submitted on July 8, 2026, by Charles Yaple of the Materials Management Department's Value Analysis section, seeks authorization to purchase the AMT Bridle Pro Range Nasal Tube and MiniOne Button securing system with accessories for enteral feeding applications. The procurement is intended for a three-year initial term with an option to renew for up to ten years. No specific bidder conferences, site visits, or response deadlines are referenced in the document.
The proposed annual purchase value is $250,000, with a total contract value of $750,000 for the initial three-year term. Applied Medical Technology Inc., located at 8006 Katherine Boulevard, Brecksville, Ohio 44141, has been identified as the sole source vendor. The justification for sole source procurement centers on the product being the only nasal tube securement device FDA-approved for pediatric populations and the only such device on the market manufactured with polymer tubing. The device accommodates multiple French sizes (5-6F, 8-10F, 12-14F, and 16-18F), features a soft over-molded portion for enhanced patient comfort, and includes a pre-attached clip as a critical safety feature. The procurement was approved by Jeffrey Gilmore on July 8, 2026. The form indicates that UNM conducted an intensive web search to identify alternative sources; however, no specific competing vendors were contacted or documented.

AMT Bridle Pro Range Nasal Tube & MiniOne Button securing system and accessories used for eternal feeding
Why is this purchase needed?
This product is used to discourage patients, young and old, from pulling out their nasoenteric feeding tube. Tape or other items do not need to be used to secure the feeding tube which helps with skin breakdown.
