About this file

The document is a detailed table of Acceptable Identity Documents, referenced from DoDM 5200.08v3_DAFMAN31-101v3 and current as of November 2022. It provides a comprehensive list of credential types that can be used for identity verification, including both sole source documents and supplemental identification methods. The list covers a wide range of credentials such as US Passports, Permanent Residency Cards, Enhanced Driver's Licenses, and various government-issued identification cards from federal and state entities.

The document specifies critical requirements for each credential type, emphasizing that most documents must be unexpired and, in some cases, meet additional criteria like being machine-readable or including a photograph. For non-REAL ID-compliant driver's licenses, supplemental documentation is required, such as a Veteran's Health Identification Card, Transportation Worker Identification Card, or a combination of Birth Certificate and Social Security Card. The document also notes specific regional variations, such as Enhanced Driver's Licenses being issued only by Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Vermont, and Washington, and provides guidance on reviewing certain documents like U.S. refugee travel documents on a case-by-case basis.
