About this file

This is a Request for Quotation (RFQt) from the City of Fort Worth Purchasing Division for weapons retrofitting services for the Fort Worth Police Department (FWPD). The RFQt seeks qualified vendors to modify Glock handgun slides (primarily G17 models) to enable direct attachment of Trijicon Specialized Reflex Optic (SRO) or Rugged Miniature Reflex (RMR) Red Dot Sights. The selected vendor will be responsible for milling the slides, applying a ceramic coating, engraving, and reassembling the slides within 14 days of receipt. Bidders must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in weapons retrofitting and maintain a full-time business address.

The evaluation and selection process will be based on a 100-point scoring system, with points allocated across five categories: cost (20 points), qualifications and experience (25 points), approach to services (15 points), ability to meet city needs (20 points), and proximity to the FWPD Weapons Range (20 points). Vendors located within 70 miles of the range will receive the maximum 20 points, while those 120+ miles away will receive 10 points. The vendor must ensure all modified slides meet original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications for fit, function, and safety, and provide a warranty against defects caused by workmanship that could prevent proper red dot sight attachment or create safety hazards.
