About this file
This document is a Heat Protection Safety Requirement specification for a construction or outdoor work project. The document provides comprehensive guidance for worker safety during adverse weather conditions, specifically focusing on protecting workers from heat-related illnesses. The requirement mandates that all vendors include weather-related safety provisions in their project Safety Plan, with particular emphasis on a Heat Awareness Plan when temperatures exceed 90 degrees (by temperature or heat index).
The specification requires the Prime Contractor to provide necessary accommodations during extended periods of adverse weather, including specific provisions for heat protection such as acclimatization, water access, rest periods, and shade. Vendors must acknowledge and agree to these safety requirements by signing the Bid Acknowledgement at the time of submission, demonstrating their commitment to maintaining worker safety under potentially challenging environmental conditions.
