6U CubeSat Canisterized Satellite Dispenser (CSD) SYSTEM MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
DATE: 08 JULY 2020
REVISION: 0
1. Overview
This is the minimum requirements document for two (2) Flight CubeSat Canisterized Satellite
Dispensers (CSD). The Canisterized Satellite Dispenser (CSD) is made of aluminum alloys. It is designed to contain a payload during launch and release it in orbit. The CSD is a reliable, testable, and cost-effective deployment mechanism for small secondary or tertiary payloads. It fully encapsulates the payload during launch and thus provides mission assurance for both the primary payload and launch vehicle. The CSD is critical to the expansion of AFIT’s satellite launch capabilities. All current Center for Space Research and Assurance (CSRA) satellite chassis’ are designed to interface with the CSD, making the hardware a necessary component for flight. These
CSD’s will be used in the testing and launching of ongoing CSRA satellite build efforts. The completed satellite will be integrated into the flight CSD which will then be mounted to a rocket for launch into Low earth orbit.
