New purifiers to be of a design that can satisfy the needs of the Main Engine Lube Oil purifiers. New Purifiers to operate at 8000 rpm and have capability to operate 8000 hours between overhauls such as the Westfalia OSE20. This upgrade will be for two (2) each lube oil purifiers.

Awarded contractor to remove the existing purifiers and dispose of properly or as instructed by COR. All existing piping to be removed except for the to/from equipment or tanks that are needed to service the specific system or equipment. The present sludge tank below each existing purifier to be opened and cleaned and gas freed to allow installation of the new purifiers on top of same. The actual interface with present support systems is identified in the Statement of Work (SOW) below.

Location:

Two (2) each Lube Oil purifiers on lower level Port side of the shaft just forward of the engine room water tight door(Frame 144)

Description:

The upgrade to include but is not limited to:

1. Design of the new purifier’s installation and gain approval from ABS and USCG for same. These approved drawings to show the location and dimensions and piping connections for each of the purifiers

2. Supply two (2) each purifiers with design characteristics of Westfalia OSE 20 or better to be used for lube oil used in main engine.

Each of the 2 new purifiers shall include modular Purifier, Feed Pump, Sludge Tank and Control Panel skids.

Each of the 2 Lube Oil Purifiers shall additionally include modular Steam

Heating and Control skids.

3. Remove both of the present purifiers and dispose of properly or as directed by

COR. Contractor must make accommodations for rigging old unit out of the engine room and onto a truck for transport.

4. Contractor responsible for all transportation and rigging and materials and labor to get the new two (2) purifiers on the ship and rigged into place and welded in place and hooked up to all the needed services

5. Use the 460vac 3ph 60cy service from the existing purifiers for the new purifiers including the starter and cabling. Power for each new purifier shall be supplied from existing motor control center breakers, using existing cabling. Contractor responsible for any modifications needed to present power supply to adapt to the new purifiers

6. Pipe up from the new purifiers to the oil suction and discharge piping from the old purifiers using all necessary new piping and fittings and flanges and gaskets and fasteners.

Additionally, the 2 Main Engine Lube Oil Purifiers shall incorporate the option for feed pump discharge to be routed to and from existing electric heaters.

7. Pipe up to a potable water supply to the new purifiers from existing adjacent potable water service and remove the old head tanks and other related piping

8. Pipe up the air from the existing air supply from the old purifiers

9. Route the vent from the new sludge tank to the vent from the old abandoned sludge tank (blank off the vent to the old sludge tank)

10. Pipe up the sludge discharge from the new purifier to the old sludge piping from the old abandoned sludge tank

11. Heaters

1. LO purifiers – hook up steam from old purifier supply to the new steam heaters

Unitral or equivalent controls for automatic shoot and controls

Hydrostop or equivalent controls for bowl operation

New pump and sludge and heater (LO purifier only) skid for each of the new purifiers

REFERENCES

Contractor is responsible for removing any interference to allow access for rigging skids into the engine room and into place on top of the abandoned sludge tanks below each of the existing purifiers. Reattachment to as found condition is required as noted in the

Terms and Conditions for all interference removal

The specific locations and arrangements of the new purifiers are as follows:

1) Lube Oil Purifiers

Located in the lower Port engine room adjacent to the watertight door between the engine room and the auxiliary machinery room

Two (2) each purifiers to be installed in the same location as the existing purifiers

Remove old purifiers and all associated piping and controls

Open and clean the sludge tank below the purifiers and clean and gas free same and leave open as it will be the foundation that the new purifier will be mounted on
