Question Answer March 31, 2023
Q1. Section 623.05 Biological Services states the qualifications for authorized biologist includes "b) a minimum of 60 days of field monitoring experience using accepted resource agency".
Does this pertain specifically to desert tortoise field monitoring, or general monitoring experience? I presume it is tortoise-specific, but the qualifications for tortoise monitors are more explicit in requiring "prior experience conducting desert tortoise surveys and/or monitoring experience".
A1. The experience requirement pertains specifically to the desert tortoise with prior experience conducting desert tortoise surveys and/or monitoring experience.
