Questions Answers 1 Pay Item 30110 Aggregate Surface Course. SCR 301.03 Surface

Course Aggregate shown in Table 703-3. Is it acceptable to use Nebraska DOT Table 1033.6 Gravel Surfacing Gradation Limits for the aggregate surface course? Meeting the LA Abrasion and soundness?

The Nebraska DOT Table 1033.06 Gravel Surfacing Gradation Limits do not meet the gradations of SCR Table 703-3 and is not acceptable for use for the project’s surface course aggregate. Additionally, Nebraska DOT’s surface gravel does not have a Plasticity Index requirement.

The project’s surface course aggregate must meet all the requirements of the 703 SCR / FP-14 Subsection 703.05. We understand that the material may need to be hauled hundreds of miles.
