Questions and Answers during Advertisement for CO FLAP SUM 91(1) Fremont Pass Trail

October 7, 2019

Questions Answers 1 Bore Hole BH-04 is shown at the south end of the proposed boardwalk. When this bore hole was augered the auger met refusal 3 times at 4 – 10 feet deep in this area. Since the helical piles are to have a 9ft minimum embed, pre-drilling will be required in this area. Is that what was contemplated? If it is, how much of the boardwalk will require pre-drilling for helicals? Two independent engineers have confirmed this soils condition.

The geotechnical report incorrectly presents the station for boring BH-04 as 47+75. The correct station is 49+10. As described in the geotechnical report, it is likely that refusal will be encountered at some helical pile locations. No estimate of the number of piles that will encounter refusal has been developed
