Solicitation No. 6982AF18R000002 – KS FLAP RSR 236(1), Cawker City Causeway
June 15, 2018
Question: Will we be given a time frame as to when this will happen? If the county is going to close the road and the contractor maintain closure, do we assume the county will be performing the removal during contract time? If so, will there be any concessions made for extension of contract time for work pace/problems experienced by the county? Also, will the county be filling the holes left by the existing guardrail posts after removal?
Answer:
1) Removal by County forces is scheduled to take place prior to beginning of contract time (ie:
Contract time begins July 16, 2018).
2) The County will close the road; the contractor will be responsible to maintain the closure. As stated in 1) above, guardrail removal is to take place prior to contract time.
3) Assuming guardrail removal is complete prior to contract time, there will be no contract time extension. If difficulties unknown at this time are encountered that affect guardrail removal by County forces, and thus affect contractor’s schedule, contract time will be considered at that time with the successful bidder. Assume holes will not be filled. It is not known if post will fall into the same places.
