Questions & Answers

SIR 697DCK-23-R-00041

1. Is there a company currently working on the elevator systems? Yes

If so, how long? The manufacturer of the elevator (TOWER ELEVATOR) has been performing emergency corrective maintenance on the elevator when needed.

2. Are there operating engineers? Are they apart of "IUEC"? There are operating engineers.

The company is not a member of IUEC.

3. If a contract is still active, is the award on USApending.gov? Or is there a way to view previous spending/contracts for this solicitation? There was not a contract previously for this solicitation.

4. Are we going to be required to be badged? If so do you know how long that process takes for the technician to be on site?

Upon arrival and departure from property, all contractor employees must report to the FAA site technician. An FAA escort will be required per section 8.1 of the SOW.

The elevator technician will have a Temporary SFO badge issued to them by the FAA technician. The Temporary SFO badge is only good for 4 times use in a calendar year. If the elevator technician is required to visit the location more than 4 times in a calendar year, the elevator technician will be required to obtain a Permanent SFO badge. The FAA System Support Center will assist vendor with obtaining the Permanent SFO badge if needed.

5. Assuming we need to be badged, do we need to be licensed to drive on the airfield which is typically an additional license above and beyond badging? If so is there any requirements for the vehicle as well?

The elevator technician will be required to have a valid driver’s license whenever entering the location. Their vehicle must have valid and current registration. The FAA technician will be escorting their vehicle the entire time while on the location.

6. Any other certifications required to conduct maintenance on this equipment?

No other requirements are necessary.
