Federal Aviation Administration Real Estate & Utilities Intent to Single Source, 09/2020

NOTICE OF JUSTIFICATION FOR SINGLE SOURCE

FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION (FAA)

Lease No.: 69435Z-22-L-00100

FSDO/ADO

Jackson, MS

This announcement is not a Screening Information Request (SIR) or Solicitation for Offers (SFO) and should not be construed as such. The FAA is not seeking proposals or accepting unsolicited proposals. Any costs associated with the response or any follow up information requests are solely at the interested vendor’s expense.

This is a notice of intent for the (FAA) to solicit space for the Flight Standard District Office (FSDO) and Airports District Office (ADO) in Jackson, MS from Jackson Municipal Airport Authority (JMAA), the current lessor. The Government will negotiate a single source succeeding lease at the existing location at 100 Cross Street, Jackson, MS 39208. This is due to the economic benefit i.e. relocation/moving of personal property, telecommunication relocation, disruption, and tenant improvement costs which are not expected to be recovered through full and open competition. The Government will negotiate with the current Lessor to lease for the approximately 18,663 square footage (sq. ft.) of office space.

The FAA currently occupies space in the above building under lease no. DTFA06-97-15117 has expired. Remaining in place for an interim period of time will maintain the integrity of FAA’s relationship with the existing lessor, provide cost savings in the form of one-time costs, and keep operational continuity for the FSDO and ADO. A short term succeeding lease would provide confidence in the FAA’s commitment to the Lessor of the new location. To best provide the FSDO and ADO with the support to continue their mission without interruption, it is advised the FSDO and ADO remain in the existing facility until they are ready to move to their long term space at 10 Canebrake Boulevard, Flowood, MS.
