About this file
This document is a Question and Answer (Q&A) related to a federal contract opportunity for Spectrum Testing Equipment - Keysight Technologies, Solicitation Number 693JJ324Q000063. The key details are:
The question asks about an option conflict in the Bill of Materials (BOM) for the Keysight M9484C unit. Specifically, the "Attachment 1" BOM includes Opt 1EH, which is incompatible with the specified frequency range of Opt 508 (or 506). The agency requests that the vendor either omit Opt 1EH or select a higher frequency range to address both the intended frequency range (~6GHz) and the harmonic/out-of-band suppression requirements. The agency's response indicates that to meet both requirements, they would need Option -514.

QUESTION:
There is an option conflict within the BOM for one of the units of this request: Keysight M9484C.
- The "Attachment 1" BOM includes Opt 1EH, however that is incompatible with the frequency specified, Opt 508 (or 506).
Would you prefer we omit Opt 1EH (Improved harmonics below 3.8 GHz) or would you like to select a higher frequency range?
ANSWER
To get both the “intended” frequency range (~6GHz) and the Harmonic (OOB) suppression, we would need to. Option -514 (<14GHz) gives the intended Fx range bur requires switching to the 3.5mm connector (more fragile) and is listed as compatible with option 1EH (Harmonics suppression).
USDOT has identified the need to slightly modify the technical specifications of this procurement. We have chosen to remove M9484C-1EH Improved harmonics below 3.8 GHz from the Vector Signal Generator. Keeping this would require a switch away from the N-male output connector to a 3.5 mm connector. The 3.5 mm connector as it is not compatible with our intended field use of the device as it is more fragile. USDOT requires the N-male connector which cannot be used with the M9484C-1EH option, thus USDOT has chosen to remove the M9484C-1EH as part of this requirement.
We need keep the “ruggedness” of the N-male connector as the device will be used in applications that make the 3.5 mm connector a liability.
