Statement of Work

This statement of work is for the purchase of Concrete Compression Device. The Concrete compression device is used to apply constant rate loading to concrete specimen until failure to determine maximum strength or Flexural Modulus. Device used in test methods AASHTO T 22, AASHTO T 97, ASTM C 78, ASTM C 39 ,ASTM C 109, ASTM C 1856, ASTM D 7012 method C, ASTM E 4 and AASHTO T 106. The results from this device will be used to determine maximum strength and flexural strength of concrete specimens.

Specification/Requirements

A. Concrete Compression Device

• Must meet all AASHTO T 22, AASHTO T 97, ASTM C 78, ASTM C 39 ,ASTM C 109, ASTM D 7012 Method C, ASTM C 1856 and AASHTO T 106 and comply with ASTM E 4.

• Must allow bolt on AASHTO T 97 flexural head compatible with Forney model F- 25EX. The flexural head is not being requested in this order.

• Capable of testing 2x4 inch, 4x8 inch, 6x12 inch cylinder specimens and 2”x2” cubes.

• Automatic testing software with pre-set controls for the rate of loading at which desired setting eliminates human error during testing. Rates include T22/C 39 = 35 +/- 7 psi/sec T 106 = 200 to 400 lbs/sec ASTM D 7012=73-145 psi/sec T 97/C 78= 125-175 psi/min

• Compression Device shall have Capacity of 400lbf with maximum error of 1% through full load and capable of maintaining requirements for low range accuracy for testing 2x2” cubes.

• Press shall be provided with maximum capacity protection feature

• Press shall be provided with completely enclosed breaking area with a clear viewing area of tests as they are in progress and to prevent flying debris during operation.

• Must be hydraulically operated and comply with applicable standard in ASTM E 4

• Provide appropriate spaces for 2x4”,4x8”,6x12” cylinders.

• Must have capability to print or save results

B. Additional Equipment

• Platens for 3”x3” cube testing

C. Electrical Requirement

• Must operate on United States standard 110 volt system.

D: Service & Support

1. The Concrete Compression Device must be capable of support through phone, e-mail, and network. Warranty for one year.
