Text version
1. The bid mentions us coming twice a year but the air meters mention they are calibrated quarterly? Do we need to plan on two more trips to come and do them? Minimum trip requirement is twice per year to satisfy most R 18 requirements of 6 month intervals. Quarterly calibrations performed in house by Materials Laboratory Technicians and includes air meters.
1. Is the filing book reference essentially the same as an asset number and unique to each tool? The filing book reference is the name of the binder the final delivered report will be filed in by laboratory manager. Final report binders are labelled with the applicable name. This is separate from the unique identification of the equipment. It is used to aid in the organization of multiple reports being delivered at the same time.
1. Do the tools and equipment stay in the same location or do they move to different locations? Generally, the tools and equipment are in the same location. Occasionally equipment such as calibers or thermometers can be moved to separate rooms in which technicians would immediately locate upon request.
1. Is this an all or nothing RFQ? Yes, it is.
1. Do all of the calibrations have to be done on site? There are several items on the list that we would need to send to one of our labs to calibrate.
Items that can be safely transported may be transported back to calibration provider facility at time of the end of on-site calibration, and shipped back to the central lab facility. Equipment items that do not have a daily need may also be shipped to calibration provider facility prior to on-site work, and with reasonable lead time, which to be delivered when arriving on-site. Either method requires coordination with laboratory manager.
