QUESTION ANSWER

Working Days/Hours:

As per the supplied Solicitation Documentation, working hours are listed Monday to Friday 0730 to 1630. Golten Service Company Inc standard working ours, in field, are Monday to Sunday 0700 to 1900. The extended working hours, providing 12 Hour Days 7 Days a week, will drastically reduce costs and time to complete the work scope required.

Q: Is the possibility for the vessel to support the attending team based on these extended hours, Monday to Sunday 0700 to 1900?

Yes, with conditions, The USTS Kennedy is operated by Massachusetts Maritime academy, and the crew are employees of the academy, normally during the regular school year the ship has students living onboard and therefore has a 24-hour watch officer assigned. During periods of with and assignee watch officer the contractor can work the hours requested. If at any time the academy does not have a watch officer assigned, the contractor will not be allowed to work on the ship, changes in working hours shall be at no additional cost to the government

OEM Representative:

As per the supplied Solicitation Documentation;

contractor is to supply an OEM representative to oversee all work. Golten Service Company Inc has factory trained Service Engineers and technicians.

Or Service Members have performed Major Overhauls and Repairs on the Wartsila L20 Series Diesel Engine, including but not limited to, Crankshaft Exchange, Camshaft Exchange, Balancing Shaft Replacement, Cylinder Head Overhauls, etc. These works have been carried out on multiple sea going vessels with great success. Our Service Members have factory training, from but not limited to, the following Original Engine Manufactures; Caterpillar, MaK, Wartsila, HiMSEN, YANMAR, MITSUBISHI, and ABB. We can provide Factory Training Certificates, Resumes (CVS), etc for our Service Members.

Q: Based on the above; is the full support from the OEM required to complete the engine overhaul for the TS Kennedy? Or can experience and prior training of Service Members employed by Golten Service Company sufficient in meeting this requirement?

No, the intent is to have OEM representative to oversee all work. The work does not need to be performed by the OEM, but the OEM must oversee all work to the extend described in the

OEM Manufactured Replacement Parts:

As per the supplied Solicitation Documentation;

contractor is to supply only OEM replacement parts. Our suppliers work directly with spare parts manufacturers, the same factories that supply Wartsila their parts. Our offered parts are OEM supplied direct from manufacturer in Europe. In many cases our pats offered are coming off the same production line. Our extensive network of Goltens Stations and trusted network of suppliers allows us to source the exact same parts at better rates and quicker turnaround

Q: With direct access to the manufacturing company available, can the procurement of OEM Parts be supported through these methods? Parts offered are direct OEM, in non-Wartsila branded packaging. Please advise if parts offered direct from manufactures will be accepted?

Yes, It will be the responsibility of the contractor to prove that all parts used are of the same quality and meet all of the requirements of OEM Manufactured Replacement Parts.
