Subject: Question Set 3
The following questions have been asked regarding this solicitation. The Government has responded in kind. Please see below for answers.
1. For the Geotechnical Investigation our team will have a drilling team onsite for soil boring, is this work subject to prevailing wages (i.e. Davis-Bacon, etc) if so can the government provide the wage determination for this work?
Answer: The following wage determination has been included for your reference and use.
General Decision Number: MA20200008 09/25/2020
2. Upon award, will the design team have access to AutoCAD as-built files/drawings of the existing poles?
Answer: No drawings exist. Please see the attached.
3. Does the federal government require a certain number of borings and locations for the Geotechnical Investigation? Or, will the government rely on the design team to determine number and location of soil borings based engineering standard of care?
Answer: This would be a contract determination. If one sample area will take care of multiple pole locations, that is acceptable.
4. Does the Government have a civil site plan showing current location of the poles? If so, can these plan sheets be uploaded to the solicitation?
Answer: Please see the attached
5. Does the Government have any additional information on the steel poles currently installed (information could be: product data, specification sheets, information about desired aesthetic, historical considerations, etc)? If so, can this information be uploaded to the solicitation?
Answer: The steel pole spec from 1983 is attached
6. Does the project require design of new signage? Or is the government’s intent to simply relocate existing signage on the new poles?
Answer: The signage required for each pole have been identified, other than that, no.
7. As part of the geotechnical investigation our team intends to conduct analysis of the soils for structural considerations only (bearing strength, etc). Does the government require environmental contaminate testing of soil as part of the Geotechnical investigation (testing for heavy metals, petroleum, etc)? If so, what environmental contaminate tests are required?
Answer: No additional soil testing is required.
