CARBON RIVER BRIDGE-FLTPP
The Carbon River Bridge is a six span bridge with spans consisting of three prestressed bulb-tee superstructure and pier shaft substructure. U/S = Rt. Nomenclature is Abutment 1, Piers 1-5, Abutment 2. The bridge is generally in good condition. There is evidence of cracking in the flanges of the tees near the pier caps and cracking below the bottom of the bulb tees in the pier cap concrete. This condition is found throughout the bridge. There is evidence at the bridge of recent significant erosion of both upstream banks. During the winter of 2015, floods eroded the BOB embankment on the upstream side and washed away most of the riprap.
Armoring of both abutments is planned to be accomplished in the next year through ERFO and Forest funds.
