About this file
This Purchase Description Order details an air bag assembly for aircraft recovery operations, specifically designed for Crash Damaged Disabled Aircraft Recovery (CDDAR). The air bag assembly consists of 5 pneumatic modules, each containing 3 fabric elements with 80,000 internal drop strings to prevent deformation when inflated. The system has a 52,000 lbs capacity, with dimensions of 80 inches wide by 100 inches long, and can lift between 24-120 inches with a maximum lift of 24 inches per module.
The order includes a complementary Aircraft Recovery Control Console (NSN: 1730-01-305-6846) compatible with 15-ton and 26-ton capacity lifting bags. The console weighs 150 lbs, has dimensions of 68.25 x 31.5 x 49 inches, and features individual control valves, pressure gauges, and a system pressure regulator. The delivery will be processed through Charleston Air Force Base. The pneumatic modules are designed with handles and velcro patches for stacking, and include a repair kit for maintaining the equipment. The system operates at 7 PSI with relief valve settings between 9-10 PSI.

Purchase Description Order
1. Product Description
1.1 The air bag assembly consists of 5 pneumatic modules, 15 hose assemblies, 4 protective pads, and a repair kit. Each pneumatic module consists of 3 elements made from fabric. Each element is a self-contained compartment that is designed to be inflated with air. Approximately 80,000 drop strings internally connect the top and bottom of the element to prevent deformation when pressurized. Each element has two molded in ports, one for a relief valve, the other for a gasketed adapter and socket that provides for attachment of an air hose assembly. The elements are attached together around the edges with fabric. Each pneumatic module has handles and velcro patches that allow attachment of one module to another to form a 3-module stack. Two protective pads are placed above and below this stack during operation. The repair kit provides materials necessary to patch damaged areas of the pneumatic module.
