About this file
This document is a Heat Protection Safety Requirement specification that appears to be part of a broader project contract or bid document. The document mandates comprehensive weather-related safety guidelines for workers, specifically addressing extreme heat conditions. When temperatures reach or exceed 90 degrees (either in actual temperature or heat index), the Prime Contractor is required to implement a project-specific Heat Awareness Plan that includes provisions for worker acclimatization, water access, rest periods, and shade.
The safety requirement stipulates that all weather-related worker safety considerations must be integrated into the project's Safety Plan, covering not only heat but also cold and other adverse weather conditions. Vendors must acknowledge and agree to follow these heat protection safety requirements by signing the Bid Acknowledgement at the time of submission. The document emphasizes the Prime Contractor's responsibility to provide necessary accommodations during extended periods of challenging weather conditions, demonstrating a proactive approach to worker health and safety.
