The project involves architectural, mechanical, and electrical upgrades to the existing Mayo High School located at 11th Avenue SE, Rochester, Minnesota, with a bid deadline of July 31, 2025 at 2:00 PM. The addendum provides extensive clarifications on water softening system removal and reuse, roof phasing plans, concrete curb removal coordination, and updates to multiple specification sections including roofing, plumbing/HVAC, and electrical work. It also includes approved equal products for door hardware, plumbing equipment, HVAC components, and other systems, along with updated plan sheets covering room renumbering, structural modifications, plumbing systems, and technology infrastructure.
The project scope includes a mandatory 6-day work week schedule and encompasses multiple bid packages with significant coordination requirements between trades. Key components include salvaging and relocating existing water softening equipment, installing new chiller building infrastructure, comprehensive plumbing and HVAC system upgrades, and technology improvements including structured cabling and audiovisual systems. The addendum specifies that all roof drains require metal covers, temporary roofing and drainage provisions are needed for mechanical equipment installation, and clean-up responsibilities extend to both roof and lower levels. The project involves complex phasing to maintain school operations during construction, with detailed coordination required for utility connections, temporary systems, and existing building modifications while ensuring full functionality throughout the construction process.
