About this file
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences seeking assay for transposase-accessible chromatin with high-throughput sequencing (ATAC-seq) services. The NIEHS Chromatin and Gene Expression Group requires ATAC-seq to characterize the epigenetic profiles of its induced pluripotent stem cell cohort and determine how ancestry-, sex-, and age-related epigenetic differences impact reprogramming efficiency. The period of performance is September 28, 2023 through September 27, 2024. Quoters must submit capabilities statements, past performance information, and fixed pricing by August 15, 2023 for evaluation based on technical approach, performance history, and price. The selected contractor will process at least 900 samples and deliver sequencing data within six months of sample receipt.

1. SUPPLIES OR SERVICES AND PRICING/COSTS
1.1 BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF SUPPLIES OR SERVICES
The Chromatin and Gene Expression Group at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences is conducting research into the contributions of genetic and epigenetic diversity in the generation of induced pluripotent stem cells (IPSCs) from patient-derived dermal fibroblasts (DFs). The process of generating IPSCs from DFs is referred to as “reprogramming.”
Reprogramming is a critical part of the expanding fields of precision and patient-specific medicine.
Using our established cohort of DFs, we have identified key factors that contribute to the efficiency of the reprogramming process and result in disparity between individuals. However, the underlying genetic and epigenetic differences responsible for this disparity between individuals remains unclear. We require Assay for Transposase-Accessible Chromatin with high-throughput sequencing (ATAC-seq) services to characterize the epigenetic profiles of our cohort of IPSCs. Our goal is to utilize these services to determine how ancestry-, sex-, and age-related epigenetic differences contribute to differences in the characteristics and differentiation capabilities of IPSCs.
1.2 GENERAL - CONTRACT TYPE
