SECTION 01026
SUMMARY OF WORK
PART 1 GENERAL
1.1 WORK COVERED BY CONTRACT DOCUMENTS
1.1.1 Project Description
Furnish all labor, equipment, materials, and all incidental related services to perform Replacement of Repair of Floor Covering and Carpeting of Miscellaneous Buildings in accordance with the technical provisions prepared by the Directorate of Public Works, U.S. Army Garrison, at various Army Installations on the Island of Oahu, Hawaii. The scope of work covered by this contract does not cover floor covering and or carpet work, which might arise as part of the contract to repair or renovate a building or group of buildings. The work covered by this contract does not include projects awarded by The U.S. Army Engineering District, Honolulu, or the Medical Facilities under Tripler (TAMC), to be designated during the contract period.
1.2 ESTIMATED QUANTITIES
The estimated quantities of work, indicated herein, are for information of the prospective Contractors. The actual quantities ordered may be more or less than the estimated quantities.
LOCATIONS
The location of work sites shall be as follows:
Fort Shafter Areas Fort Shafter, Fort DeRussy, Tripler Army Medical Center, (Except for the main Medical Bldg.) Aliamanu Military Reservation Schofield Barracks Area Schofield Barracks (includes East Range & Leilehua Golf Course, Wheeler Army Airfield, Helemano Military Reservation) The exact locations will be shown by the Contracting Officer.

0003: (NON-ASBESTOS) VINYL AND VINYL COMPOSITION TILE removal and disposal on floors for multi-layered floor covering. Remove and dispose of existing multi-layered floor tile covering in various down to wood underlayment or bare concrete. Estimated at: 100 SF

0009: POLISH VINYL COMPOSITION TILE FLOORING. Polish pre-waxed/no wax flooring in various buildings following installation. Estimated at: 30,000 SF
0010: SAMPLING & TESTING OF ASBESTOS (NON-FRIABLE) IN VINYL, VINYL COMPOSITION TILE, AND ADHESIVE. Collection and laboratory analysis of samples.
CLARIFICATION: One unit (EA) consists of one sample retrieved at the site w/ one laboratory test. Samples may or may not be in the same building. For example: 10 samples may be required in 10 different buildings in the Fort Shafter area or all 10 samples may be needed in one building. Estimated at: 5 EA
NOTE: A requirement for submittal of accreditation and medical surveillance for each worker has been included under Section 028214.

0056: Installation of flooring outside of normal working hours as requested by the government. Job to be determined on each task order. CLIN to be used in conjunction CLINS for removal and installation of flooring during normal working hours. For example CLINS 0001, 0007, and 0056 would be included in a project to be performed after hours or on weekends. Estimated at: 1,000 SF
0057: Remove and Re-install Bathroom Fixtures and Partitions and Miscellaneous Labor. Estimated at: 20 EA
0058: “Function Modular” or approved equal, 1/10 gauge Modular Tufted Textured Patterned Loop, solution dyed nylon, 24”X24” Carpet Squares with Severe Traffic CRI rating, vinyl, modular backing system. Flammability conforming to ASTM 648 Class 1 (Glue down), Smoke Density conforming to ASTM 662 less than 450. Static Propensity conforming to AATCC-134 under 3.5 KV. IAQ Green label certified. Clean floor surface of all foreign materials prior to installation. Installation is direct glue down between carpet and floor. Estimated at: 2,000 SY

0060: Install Carpet with Furniture in place. Lift Jack system to lift modular furniture or temporarily relocate furniture and replace after installation of carpet. Estimated at: 15,000 SF
0061. Provide moving furniture prior to and after installation of flooring. Includes general, desks, partitions, storage boxes, tables, file cabinets (full), chairs, and bookshelves. Quantity to be plan space the furniture covers. Estimated at: 12,500 SF
